LEBANON, OH. – A total of 98 horses have nominated to the James K. Hackett Memorial races to be contested at Miami Valley Raceway in April. The event, started decades ago at old Lebanon Raceway and picked up by Miami Valley ten years ago, annually signals the unofficial start of the Ohio stakes racing season.
All four divisions, for Ohio-sired three year olds, will feature elimination races for $20,000 and finals for $50,000 from April 24 through April 27.
The three year old filly pace drew the most nominations with 30. A total of 28 colt pacers were entered as well as 23 filly trotters and 17 colt trotters. The lists of nominees is available on the track’s website: www.miamivalleygaming.com by clicking on the “Racing” tab then the “Horsemens Information’ tab followed by “Forms” and scrolling to the bottom.
Eliminations will be held one week before the finals, from April 17 through April 20. All horses must be qualified at the time of entry and the draw schedule will coincide with Miami Valley’s normal draw schedule.
