DAYTON, OH. – Although it wasn’t as easy, Alexa Skye did it again.  The 6-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere continued her domination of the Miami Mares Open Pace on Thursday (March 23) with her fourth straight victory.

Driver Trace Tetrick took no prisoners as Alexa Skye seems to like leaving the gate as much as needed and then settling in to a futile game of “catch me if you can” for her foes.  On this occasion Wildcat Victoria (Dan Noble) gave her all she wanted as they sped down the home stretch, but fell a quarter length short in 1:51.  Velocity Lady (Brady Galliers), Trick Of The Light (Chris Page) and Lee Loo (Brett Miller) also had closing kick but Alexa Skye would not be denied.

Virgil Morgan Jr. trains the winne for the Let It Ride Stable and Bottom Line Racing.  In 2023 alone, she has a scorecard that reads 9 starts with 5 wins, 2 place and 2 show finishes—good for earnings of $90,000.

Southwest Ohio top mares who have been chasing Alexa Skye for over a month will get a respite next week as the winner has agreed to take a week or two off, or move to another venue.

Miami Valley is dark on Fridays and Saturdays, but will resume the normal Sunday through Thursday schedule on March 26.  Post time is always 4 p.m.
