LEBANON, OH. – The nomination deadlines for several of Miami Valley’s popular late closing series are fast approaching.
The first three Lebanon Legends series for non-winners of 4 pari-mutuel races or $40,000 lifetime are due in the race office by Thursday, Feb. 17. The George Williams Memorial, for male pacers, will begin on Sun., Feb. 27 and end with a $30,000 final on March 13. The Ray Paver Sr. Memorial, for trotters, starts Wed., March 2 and culminates with a $25,000 championship on March 16. The Herb Coven Jr. Memorial, limited to pacing fillies and mares, commences on Thurs., March 3 and ends on March 17 with a $25,000 championship. Horses must meet the conditions at 6 p.m. on the nomination date. Fee for the first three Legends series is $400.
Nominations for the Bill Dailey and Howard Beissinger Memorials are due Feb. 21. The Dailey medley features a 5/8 mile $15,000 first leg, a one mile $20,000 second leg, and a 1-1/4 mile $30,000 final. It is for male pacers whose last three races prior to the nomination date were for $15,000 purses or less. The Beissinger, for trotters, follows the same format. Nomination fee for these two odd-distance events is $500.
