LEBANON, OH. – The field is set for the richest race of the Miami Valley season, the $37,500 final of the Claim To Fame series for $30,000 horses and geldings on next Sunday (Jan. 26). A trio of $27,500 divisions of second round action were contested Sunday (Jan. 19) to determine the nine finalists.
Winners were Lincolnjames (Brett Miller, 1:53.1, $3.00), Normandy Beach (Trace Tetrick, 1:53.3, $4.60) and The Dark Shadow (Chris Page, 1:52.4, $27.20). They will be joined by Southern Flight, Street Boy, The Book Of Life, Bestman Hanover, Sammy The Bull N and Dakota Roadster in the lucrative championship race.
Normandy Beach, the only two time winner in the preliminary legs, was claimed for $39,000 by the partnership of Virgil Morgan Jr., Carl Howard and Dana Parham and will race out of the new barn in the final.
